Conservation
Protecting nature, preserving tomorrow
Safeguarding wildlife through action, education and sustainable care.

The conservation fee
A R30 conservation fee is charged on entry to the reserve, and a 3% conservation levy applies to all additional purchases. These funds help protect our natural heritage, restore habitats and support long-term conservation of the species native to this area.
Your conservation fee at work
Why are you introducing a conservation fee now?
Threats to species like white rhinos, lions and vultures have grown. Poaching, habitat loss and climate pressures mean we need sustainable funding to expand anti-poaching patrols, restore natural areas and rehabilitate injured wildlife.
Where does the money go?
Every rand supports conservation work inside the reserve: anti-poaching operations, habitat restoration, wildlife rehabilitation and community partnerships.
Does it pay for daily animal care?
No, except for endangered and rare species. Day-to-day care is funded separately; the fee is ring-fenced for projects that protect and restore wildlife and habitats over the long term.
How do you protect rhinos?
With dedicated anti-poaching patrols, surveillance systems and veterinary support for injured or vulnerable rhinos.
Will the fee go up?
Our aim is to keep it affordable and only adjust it if necessary. Any change would be communicated openly.
